A browser project,
open to testers.
Dawn Browser is a Chromium-based desktop browser built with Electron, with custom browser chrome, privacy controls, local development tooling and a deliberately small set of internal pages. This page documents the project as it exists in the current alpha rather than presenting unfinished systems as complete.
Some settings are known to be broken.
The current alpha is useful for testing the browser itself, but it is not a polished release. In particular, the default search engine and theme features are currently bugged/broken in the alpha installation.
More than a shell around a webview.
The browser already contains a substantial browser-chrome and application layer. The feature set below is the current project inventory; some pieces have infrastructure that is not yet exposed through a finished setting or interface.
Install it, read how it works, then poke at the strange bits.
Install Alpha v1.
Get the current placeholder package and read the installation notes before swapping in the real executable.
